THE INAUGURAL 5K IN 5POINTS HIGHLIGHTS AND SUPPORTS THE DENVER FIVE POINTS COMMUNITY

DENVER, COLORADO | APRIL 5, 2010 - The first annual 5K in 5Points will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011. The 5K Run/Walk will tour Denverʼs iconic Five Points neighborhood, beginning at Curtis Park and ending at the Five Points Jazz Festival. The goal of “5K in 5Points” is to highlight local parks, businesses and cultural assets; promote health and wellness in the Five Points Community; and raise funds necessary to support YouthBiz and the Rotary Club of Five Points Cultural District. URBAN YOUTH GRADUATE PROGRAM, EQUIPPED TO STEP UP AS LEADERS IN THEIR COMMUNITY

DENVER, COLORADO | DECEMBER 9, 2010 Over 50 youth from Denver’s most economically challenged east-side neighborhoods will graduate from YouthBiz programs on December 9, 2010. The youth have spent the past semester exploring concepts of entrepreneurship, financial maturity, leadership, community issues and future planning.  Through the peer-to-peer leadership model, other young people from the same neighborhoods and schools lead the classes, empowering the program participants to step up as leaders in addressing the issues that challenging their peers, families, and communities. YOUTH PRESENT SOCIAL VENTURE PROJECTS TO COMMUNITY AT YOUTHBIZ’S SUMMER OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CELEBRATION

DENVER, COLORADO | JULY 31, 2010 – Youth from Denver’s economically challenged east-side neighborhoods have been exploring concepts of social entrepreneurship through the lenses of film, music, mural-making, and eco-cultivation at YouthBiz’s Summer of Social Entrepreneurship workshop series. The eight-week program will culminate July 31, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a Summer Celebration open house at YouthBiz.
