The Programs
YouthBiz programs focus on entrepreneurship, education and community leadership. Programs strategically reinforce social competence, problem solving skills, sense of purpose and direction, a caring and supportive community, and high expectations.
Tier I YouthBiz Basics // Introductory program designed to teach basic skills, increase self-confidence and support school & work activities. Youth explore technology, communication, professionalism, leadership development and entrepreneurial discovery.
Tier II YouthBiz Advanced // Intermediary program that explores & defines personal, academic and career goals. Includes comprehensive course in financial literacy and entrepreneurial development. Youth explore entrepreneurship, financial maturity, higher education prep, career exploration, personal goal setting and leadership development.
Tier III Crew Leader Academy // Advanced program that builds skills in the areas of teaching & facilitation, conflict resolution, and managing and empowering learners. Crew Leaders lead classes for Tier I and II. Youth explore teaching methodology, leading a classroom, learning styles, and curriculum development.
Summer Workshop Series // Designed to introduce youth to social entrepreneurship by exploring the intersection of entrepreneurship and community issues. Youth explore youth business ventures, green careers, service learning, and urban arts
Tier IV Internships // Advanced program that places youth in summer-long, paid internships in a field of interest. Youth are supported to make a successful transition to their future path through professional mentorship and guidance in future planning.
Session Calendar
YouthBiz operates three program sessions per year (fall, spring, and summer). The fall and spring sessions are twelve weeks and the summer session is an eight weeks. Due to space and financial limitations, only 1 in 3 applicants are accepted into the program.
